THE ST. LOUIS MORMON HISTORICAL SOCIETY
 
At 7:00 P.M., on Friday, May 4, 2012, at the St. Charles Chapel, 2245 Old Hwy. 94S, St. Charles, MO 63303, the St. Louis Mormon Historical Society will present:
 
"The Mormon Trail Through St. Charles County"
 
The presenter will be William Popp, historian and member of the St. Charles Historical Society.

MEMBERSHIP MEETING - FALL 2011

The Fall 2011 membership meeting will be held at 'The Des Peres Lodge', Friday, August 26th, 2011 at 7:00 PM. Professor Dale Whitman will present "Parley P. Pratt's Boone County Jailbreak" which occured on July 4, 1839.
The presentation will be given by Dale A Whitman, the former James Campbell Professor of Law at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. where he retired in 2007.    He received his B.E.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 1963 and his law degree from Duke University in 1966.  After practicing for a short period with the firm of O'Melveny and Myers in Los Angeles, Whitman began his academic career at the University of North Carolina in 1967.
He was a member of the original faculty whe the Brigham Young University law school was founded in 1973.  He has since been a faculty member at the University of Washington and the University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Florida, South Texas Law School, Washingotn University in St. Louis, the University of Tulsa, the University of Utah, and UCLA.  During 2009-2010, Whitman served as Associate Area Legal Counsel of Aisia for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he dealt with the church's legal issues in 15 Asian countries.
He is co-author of five books and numerous articles.  He was a reporter for the Restatement (Third) of Property (Mortgages), published in 1997, and the Unioform Power of Sale Foreclosure Act, approved in 2002 by the Commissioners on Uniform Laws.  He is a member of the Order of the Coif, the American Law Institute, the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, and hte American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

GOOD NEWS! 
The Fall-2010 membership meeting will be held on September 23rd.
Fred Woods will once again speek to us - The Church in St. Louis
The meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Katherine Kercher, 20 Bellerive Country Club, Creve Coeur, MO 63141.
The meeting will start at 7:00 PM and last approximately one hour.

All are invited and encouraged to attend.
